Staying run-fit over the winter and preparing for spring track season

Shorter days and rainy cold weather for the next few months can make running a little more difficult. Here are some resources to keep you motivated and active until the track season begins in early March. The information below will be updated with details in the next few days.

Cross Country General Information for Practices During the School Fall Season

If parking inside the park a Discover Pass is required to avoid a ticket. You can purchase passes at the kiosk within the park ($10/day) or ($30/yr) online HERE. We meet at the picnic tables along the cricket field on your left as you enter the park. Drop off is ok and carpooling is encouraged.

Things to remember for practice:

XC Quick FAQ

How often/long is practice? Once school begins practices will be M-F after school 4-6pm unless otherwise noted.  Wednesday (early release) practices begin at 2:30pm. Practices are typically anywhere from 90min to 2hrs depending on training needs.
Where are practices held? We have 3 locations: St Edward State Pk (Discover Pass required if parking), Bothell Landing and Inglemoor HS.
How do we get to practice locations off campus? Parents can make any type of arrangement to get their athletes to and from practice.
Are buses available? Buses are available for meets only. They are not available for practices.
Can I drive/pick up my athlete(s) to and from cross country meets? In most cases coaches prefer that students ride the bus. However, parents may drive their athlete(s) to meets and pick them up after the meet but an email must be sent to the Athletic Director 24 hrs in advance. Athletes must check in with a coach upon arrival to the meet if not taking the bus. Parent/Guardians must sign out each of their athletes and athletes must check out with a coach prior to leaving a meet.
Can my student drive themselves to a meet? Parent/Guardians must request permission from the Athletic Director no less than 24hrs in advance.
Where can I find addtional information about meets? Visit Athletic.net to see the team's official schedule, results, meet information, and athlete profiles.
What kind of running shoes are needed/Do I need cross country spikes? We recommend visiting a running shoe store to try on shoes you will be running in. Visit the coaches page for recommendations. Spikes will only be recommended for certain athletes. No need to purchase unless recommended by the coaches. We have a "Spike/Shoe Night" scheduled as an opportunity to receive a discount on purchases at Super Jock n' Jill.
